The Fall Classic

Supporting scholarships for The First Tee of the Sandhills youth

Our goal is to raise additional awareness and needed funds to sponsor The First Tee of the Sandhills Curriculum Programs offered three (3) times per year across the Sandhills.

A class sponsorship costs $1,200 and covers one (1) nine week program for up to 18 youth at an area golf course location.  Currently, we offer over 55 programs annually across fourteen facility locations, delivering Life Skills Curriculum through our nationally trained coaches.

In 2017, over 900 registrants participated across 55 Life Skills Curriculum Programs with 30% on a financial aid scholarship. In addition, 28% of these youth registered for our multi-week curriculum programs were non-Caucasian and 40% were female.

Through the Fall Classic, YOU will have the opportunity to be a part of expanding our available scholarship base through a fun, friendly competition with fellow members of your local club!

4 Person Step Aside Scramble – All players will tee off and the best shot will be selected for the second shot. On the second shot, only three members of the foursome play. The one that doesn’t hit is the person whose drive was selected. He/She “steps aside” and the other members of the foursome play their second shots. The next shot is then selected, and again, only three members of the foursome play. The person that doesn’t hit is the person whose most recent shot was selected. This shot selection and the changing roster of three players that hit the next shot and the player that steps aside on each shot continues to change in this way until the group holes out on that hole. Then on the next tee the same process is repeated. The result is one score for the team for each hole.

The Winning Team from each Fall Classic event will be invited to play in a 9 Hole Grand Finale on Pinehurst No. 4, free of charge. Event is scheduled for a 3pm shotgun on Wednesday, November 7 with a reception immediately following play.
