Dear Parents and Participants,

The Fall Session of Classes will begin shortly. Please follow the link to learn more for an excel spreadsheet to see the class times and rosters.

All classes meet at our classroom near the pool at The Country Club of Whispering Pines.

Please be on time and dress appropriately. This will be the most fun session ever!

  Programs & Instructions
Coaches work with students in small groups at practice facilities and on the golf course. TARGET Class is for K-2nd grades with parent "caddies" required. Friday Evenings from 5-6pm PLAYer Class is for 7-17 year old new to our programs. We cover the basics of golf etiquette, rules and golf skills on the golf course while actually playing the game. Students are assigned to age appropriate classes. PAR, Birdie, Eagle, ACE classes take PLAYers through a progression of The First Tee Life Skills Experinece. Our most successful graduates worked their way patiently through all levels.
  Certification
To certify, the golfer must display the necessary golf and life skills appropriate for their level of participation.

The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach

The First Tee Coach Program is an educational training program that prepares staff and volunteers at Chapters of The First Tee to deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which includes the TARGET program, as well as the Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace levels of certification.
Assistant Coach Training
The First Tee Assistant Coach Training for individuals who want to be more involved with the ongoing coaching and mentoring of The First Tee participants at the Chapter level but may not be able to spend the time required to become recognized as a The First Tee Coach.
